After ending the long dreary day by drowning my shallow mind in rum fashioned drinks I exited the small back ally bar. Looking down the dimly lit streets that were being pelted by a cool misty drizzle called rain there was no sense of being. I smiled to myself for no apparent reason while thinking the chilled spring weather only intensifies the urge for the on coming hot summer daze.
Taking off into the void of the night a dewdrop tear raced down my face as I soon came to a darkened crosswalk. Stopping to wait for the distant light to instruct me on what to do the spiders were building their nests.
On the other side of the glazed over pavement under the hazed out light stood a scantily dressed dark skinned woman. Stopped by the red flashing light stating “do not walk” we were stranded here trapped in time. Being on the back edge of the long day there was no traffic. All the buildings were shadowed and their windows were absent of glow. Yet we stood at our corners waiting for what?
As I stood there I glanced across the reflecting street with a long wondering stare. My void mind started to crawl out from the empty hollows as a distant memory called out from the abyss. A long lost thought that had been caught in the webbing was desperately fighting to be freed. It was a sun baked beach and a woman named Kake. Twenty dollar love and…
With no warning the glow of the light reflecting a different color pulled me back into the moment. Ordering us to walk we silently passed by quickly glancing into each others eyes. As she slipped past me in that instant called now the dark skinned woman started drifting in time. Back into the lost voids of my mind.
Falling back into the no sense of being, I continued my journey down the drizzle filled streets…
