It has been commercialized and over run by people since last time I did this. Even the Feds were cashing in. Probably less than half way down it I counted over 150 prefab log houses before I decided to quit. I only saw three dear and one raccoon, no large fish what so ever. They had totally destroyed the beaver damns and we only saw one beaver as we neared the Great Lake. There were still a few kinds of birds but few and far between. I doubt I will ever even cross that river again...
